As the criminal justice reporter at WPLN News — Nashville Public Radio, I investigate systemic issues within policing, prisons, jails and the courts. I am also the host of WPLN’s podcast, Deadly Force, which delves into the Metro Nashville Police Department’s use of force policies and training, as well as the relationship between the city’s predominantly white police department and its Black residents.

Health and inequity reporter at the Telegraph newspaper as a corps member for the inaugural class of Report for America. Wrote in-depth narrative and investigative pieces about poverty and health-related issues facing central Georgia.
MEDILL JUSTICE PROJECT - INVESTIGATIVE INTERN
June 2017Â - August 2017
Investigated a 2009 murder case on a team of five interns at Northwestern’s investigative journalism nonprofit, which examines potentially wrongful convictions and systemic criminal justice issues.
Co-wrote and produced an in-depth investigative multimedia story with the intern team.

Reported a dozen stories about the Chicago Latino community in both English and Spanish for the Chicago Tribune’s Spanish-language edition. Shot photo and video and produced video packages to accompany several stories.

Wrote and reported on several of my own stories, both for the website and for radio. Conducted reporting and research for reporters, transcribed interviews, and created multimedia elements for the website.
